Pontiac, Michigan is a city of 60,000 people 30 miles north of Detroit. General Motors has been a presence in the city for the last century, providing the citizens with numerous jobs directly and indirectly. "If GM goes, so does the town," said GM employee John Carmichael. General Motors plans to close more plants this year, and Pontiac is rumored to be one of them.
